Community Open Days Results: 56% support the plans
16 November 2010

The results of the Community Open Days held for Vectis Wind Farm last week show that 56% of local people who filled in a questionnaire support the plans, 13% are undecided and 31% are opposed.

Infinergy's Project Director Herb Lindlahr commented: " We are pleased with the response which shows that there is considerable support for our Vectis Wind Farm proposal. One of the most important issues that came up in our conversations was: “Why are we investigating a site that has previously been turned down?” We explained that we have scaled the project down, both in number of turbines and in height. We propose a compact design which shows the turbines in a group rather than a widespread line. We also moved the turbines away from public right of ways such as bridleways and we will provide more information on ecological subjects such as bats.”
